Step 1: Get the Syllabus.
Step 2: Get all the books prescribed in the syllabus, nevermind the form(solid, electronic) in which you get them.
Step 3: Sit in the first bench and try to make (little) sense atleast in every class.
Step 4: Aim to study 7 units per subject.
Step 5: Have a look at what the seniors studied.
Step 6: Study the seniors portion if possible.
Step 7: Study units which you are most clueless about. Trick here is if you cant make much sense of it neither can the paper setters. The Questions are almost always direct or repetitive.
Step 8: Read old solved Question papers.
Step 9: Pray that the above 8 steps are enough.
Step 10: Sleep a lot less during the 2 weeks of exam and dont panic on the last day.
p.s. if you followed the above 10 steps and are still not confident of getting a distinction. well Congrats! You’re a student of VTU!
yes.. there’s been CS, SS and finally HDL today. CS was ok-Nyquist saved me. SS , too easy. for the first time in engineering i actually wrote all 8 Qs !!! guess it will also be the last one. HDL was Boring. just filled with bad theory Qs asking examples every single place and how to program Adders in vhdl and verilog. half adder, full adder , full adder using half adder.. Sheesh! i wanted to just go to sleep there. The weather was almost right for that too.
Today was the All India Bandh called by the BJP to protest against the Amarnath shrine land controversy. It had mixed response i guess. Mangalore stayed pretty closed down since its under the BJP government. Bangalore didnt have too many problems. Infosys stayed close today i heard. The worst thing was the part that we had Exams today. The morning saw all 2nd year engineering students trying to catch their respective college buses as there were no private buses running. after exams at 12:30 we had a special bus trip back to mangalore. About 100 of us crammed in there somehow for the nearly 2 hour journey back. Its fun when your around friends, on a empty stomach as you skipped lunch to cram urself into the middle, trying to get a decent footing or perhaps even hanging on for dear life in some cases 😀
thats the last paper of mathematics in engineering. There wont be any more to give you that sense of relief. A subject you can take for granted and chill out with, which almost everyone studies with Music blaring or iPods plugged in. i didnt do all that for this semester exam though. thought i will study it seriously 🙂 well the paper turned out easy and i was out REALLY early; like at 12:05, after attempting 6/8 questions.
That s my personal Best for any exam 😀
yes. after the much yes and no, only one exam of ours is supposed to be postponed and that too from 26th june to 15 july-for me its Microcontroller and Graph theory and Combinatories for the CS/IS students. 😦 read more here. we got it confirmed from college too although there’s no news on the official website of the VTU.
