Music Review: Snow Patrol, The Killers

Posted in Music, Reviews with tags , , on December 8, 2008 by iNOsaint

A Hundred Million Suns: Just an amazing album alltogether. I wasnt much of a Snow Patrol fan but this album kinda changed it all for me. I can stop listening to it! The subtle Music and awesome Lyrics are just what the doctor ordered for me :)

You cool your bed warm hands down
on the broken radiator
And when you lay them freezing on me
I mumble can you wake me later

But I don’t really want you to stop
And you know it so it doesn’t stop you
You run your hands from my neck
To my chest

Crack the shutters open wide
I want to bathe you in the light of day
And just watch you as the rays
Tangle up around your face and body

I could sit for hours
Finding new ways to be awed each minute
Cause the daylight seems to want you
Just as much as I want you

It’s been minutes it’s been days
It’s been all I will remember
Happy lost in your hair
And the cold side of the pillow

Your hills and valleys
Are mapped by my intrepid fingers
And in a naked slumber
I dream all this again

Crack the shutters open wide
I want to bathe you in the light of day
And just watch you as the rays
Tangle up around your face and body

I could sit for hours
Finding new ways to be awed each minute
Cause the daylight seems to want you
Just as much as I want you

Crack the shutters open wide
I want to bathe you in the light of day
And just watch you as the rays
Tangle up around your face and body

I could sit for hours
Finding new ways to be awed each minute
Cause the daylight seems to want you
Just as much as I want you

Day and Age

Day And Age: Ok now this is typically ‘Killers’ sound. On the first hearing it didnt impress me much except for the first 3-4 songs. The Killers are the type of band who’s Lyrics being largely non-sensible are nontheless catchy and make you want to sing them out loud( and also to learn them drum rolls ;) ) Hence its always a pleasure to hear them.

Console me in my darkest hour
Convince me that the truth is always grey
Caress me in your velvet chair
Conceal me from the ghost you cast away

I ain’t in no hurry, you go run
And tell your friends I’m losing touch
Fill their heads with rumours of impending doom
It must be true

Console me in my darkest hour
And tell me that you always hear my cries
I wonder what you got conspired
I’m sure it was the consolation prize

I ain’t in no hurry, you go run
And tell your friends I’m losing touch
Fill the night with stories, the legend grows
Of how you got lost

But you made your way back home
You sold your soul, like a roaming vagabond, yeah

I heard you found a wishing well
In the city
Console me in my darkest hour (in my darkest hour)
And you throw me down

I ain’t in no hurry, you go run
And tell your friends I’m losing touch
Fill your crown with rumours
Impending doom, it must be true

But you made your way back home
You sold your soul, like a roaming vagabond

And about how you got lost, but you made your way back home
You went and sold your soul, an allegiance dead and gone
I’m losing touch

–’Losing Touch’

These are the two albums i have been listening to continously and even though it doesnt show it on Last. fm its the truth. The music plays on the mp3 player mostly and its not an iPod to scrobble.

What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?

REM LYRICS – What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?

“What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?”

“What’s the frequency, Kenneth?” is your Benzedrine, uh-huh
I was brain-dead, locked out, numb, not up to speed
I thought I’d pegged you an idiot’s dream
Tunnel vision from the outsider’s screen
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh
You wore our expectations like an armored suit, uh-huh

I’d studied your cartoons, radio, music, TV, movies, magazines
Richard said, “Withdrawal in disgust is not the same as apathy”
A smile like the cartoon, tooth for a tooth
You said that irony was the shackles of youth
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh

“What’s the frequency, Kenneth?” is your Benzedrine, uh-huh
Butterfly decal, rear-view mirror, dogging the scene
You smile like the cartoon, tooth for a tooth
You said that irony was the shackles of youth
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh
You wore our expectations like an armored suit, uh-huh
I couldn’t understand
You said that irony was the shackles of youth, uh-huh
I couldn’t understand
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I couldn’t understand
I never understood, don’t fuck with me, uh-huh

i had read at Uncyclopedia something about the Frequency but was unaware of this song till today :) Thanks to Rahul. wiki.

p.s. someone felt that am obessed with my name :P

A shock of lightening

The new single “A shock of Lightening” from Oasis is out on radio. i got to hear it. The way its sung is pretty much oasis trademark. The music is a bit different though from the earlier albums but its nice, refreshing overall. Lets see how the album is like. Also waiting for the much awaited ‘Brisingr’-third book in the inheritance trilogy, to be released this month.

If Everyone Cared.
