an Innocent Life

the lot of us somehow ended up going to the kite festival, it wasnt much of a plan. but somehow every one ended up coming along i met so many people that day that i was at the verge of losing my voice ( again!!). i had caught a cold a couple of days back and the sore throat just got worse with all that talking. so enuf talking . have a look see at my pictures.

well i started my driving classes today. yesterday after a long wait , i finally got my chance and answered the learner license test.. it was an oral one .. simple when u compare with the horrible ones ive answered so far !

Mornings are going to be early now onwards with my classes starting at 8:15

i also discovered today that the new laptop DVD writer is “backwards Compatible” . i must have been dumb to assume otherwise. anyways so that means i will be busy writing all my PC contents so that i have a backup.

its been a while… nearly 5 years since i last touched the brushes. but i had been thinking for sometime that i should try it again. so there i was , sunday morning with nothing special planned for the rest of the day . searching through my old stuff, conveniently crammed into my cupboard, i located the old 2 sided pink pencil box which still held my paints. most of them were still in working condition, luckily :/ . With newspapers covering the bedsheet i sat at my usual “workplace”. something entered my head . i ended up distorting the entire thing but somehow managed to salvage it into the result that u here behold. in the beginning ,i thought i would title it ” freedom” but now it doesnt look fit. any ideas???

now i know it sucks. and if u think so too. please let me know if by some rare chance ur an art critic perhaps u can see the artist(painter) in me. i dont usually drift towards painting. basically prefer pencil shading. been at it since i was very very little. i had given up painting since i used to mess up the entire thing. but this time i found my strokes more straight. surprising!

there i was channel surfing while having breakfast and decided to check out the local movie channel. there was a hindi movie playing ( just started) which i recognized as “Manorama Six Feet Under” i had wanted to watch it cause i had heard that it was a different type of movie. true, it is a non-mainstream movie. the main protagonist is Satyaveer(Abhay Deol) is a down on his luck junior engineer . he used to be a writer whose first work “Manorama” sold barely 200 copies which was why he lost interest.

the movie opens portaying him in a bored life in a small rajasthani town , married with a kid, from where he sees no escape. one day a woman appears and asks him to play detective akin to his book’s creation “detective Raghu”. Satyaveer is pending enquiry regarding a bribe that he took and hence jumps at the idea of making some money rs 20,000 to be exact. so he takes up the assignment and his life spirals out of control. the woman dies ( murdered , he says) , he gets beaten up by thugs and his marriage gets rocky. what happens after this? how the plot unfolds? watch it

i liked the way the movie was picturised , directed. the dialogues where good although the rajasthani dialect is at times difficult to understand but everything is explained so not much ambiguity is left( there still is some ) The story flows smoothly , is a bit slow at times. It incorporates the nuances of small town life and politics. i loved the detailing.

by the way , it appears that this is a remake of a Hollywood movie “Chinatown” starring Jack Nicholson and directed by Roman Polanski.
